Spring Forward with Short Term Gas Rates

Shop shop term gas providers now to find the best short term plans that fit your needs before summer starts.
Spring is here! Whether you're a student or a contract worker on assignment, shop these short term Georgia gas deals now to find the one that fits your needs.

Long term gas plans can lock down your rate for longer. But, short term Georgia gas plans have their perks. This month, short term rates in Pooler, GA offer savings if you plan things right. As mild temperatures tease their way towards summer, is it time to scoop up a short term natural gas plan? Let’s check out the best short term natural gas rates in Pooler, GA and find out.

Variable Plans for Short Term Gas Savings

These variable rate plans have great cheap rates. But beware: intro rates only last a month or two before shooting up to the provider’s standard variable rate (SVR). If you only need a month or two of gas or want to see what rates look like next month before you commit long term, these plans could suit you well. However, be sure you switch to a cheap fixed rate before the intro rate expires!

Firstly, it’s the Georgia Natural Gas® Market Intro plan with a $0.499 per therm rate. Sweetening the deal, there is also no monthly charge. Plus, the rate lasts two months! After that, the plan switches to the provider’s SVR.  According to the GA PSC, this month that’s $2.269 per therm.

Secondly is the Gas South Intro Variable planat $0.590 per therm. The monthly charge for the plan is $6.95-$9.95. You don’t have to pay a deposit, which is great if you are short on extra cash up to $150. There is also $20 in bill credits, but that is spread out over four months (or three months longer than you want to stick with this plan). After one month, the plan switches to the provider’s SVR. This month the rate is $2.090 per therm.

Finally, it’s the Scana Energy Intro Variable plan at $0.599 per therm. The monthly charge is $5.95. This provider offers $100 in total bill credits, but only $5 per month. After one month, the plan switches to the provider’s SVR. This month the rate is $2.190 per therm.

If you think an intro rate is your best option, I would go with the Georgia Natural Gas® Market Intro plan. It will save you the most money and gives you more time to find a fixed rate plan.

Cheap Short Term Fixed Rates

These short term fixed rate plans are pricier than the intro rates above. However, they give you more time to plan your next move. One of these plans could be a great option if you are a renter, student, or want to wait for fall shoulder month rates before you lock in a long term contract.

Firstly, we have the Gas South Fixed 6 Month at $0.690 per therm. The plan has a $150 ETF and $6.95-$9.95 monthly charge. You also have no deposit and get a $5 bill credit per month up to ten months.

Your other option is the Georgia Natural Gas® 6 Month Fixed plan at $0.699 per therm. The plan has a $6.99-$7.99 monthly charge and $50 ETF. These two plans are neck-in-neck. But for my money, I’d go with Gas South Fixed 6 Month for the edge on savings, bill credits, and no deposit.
