  1. Total Amount Due: The total of all your Atlanta Gas Light charges. Current charges, credits, and any remaining balances from previous Atlanta Gas Light bills. This is what you owe.
  2. Dedicated Design Day Capacity: This is the space reserved on the pipes for you on the pipeline so that you get gas service.
  3. Usage CCF: Amount of gas used.
  4. BTU Factor: Heat Energy in natural gas. You multiply this number by the CCF used to get the actual energy usage, which is the Therms.
  5. Therms: Amount of natural gas you're consuming.
  6. Natural Gas Consumption Charge: Your gas rate multiplied by the numner of therms you used.
  7. Customer Service Charge: Monthly charge which covers account maintainence and services rendered to the customer.
  8. AGL Pass-Through Charges: What Atlanta Gas Light charges for maintaining the infrastructure you use to recieve natural gas. Pipelines, meter readings, etc.

Like many things we need daily, prices for natural gas provider plans are up right now. But just because prices are higher doesn’t mean there are no deals to find. In fact, as temperatures and demand continue to climb through summer, natural gas rates are likely to follow suit. So, if you’re in the market for a new plan for any reason, compare the best natural gas deals in Augusta today to save.

Compare 12 Month Natural Gas Plans

Check out these 12 month natural gas plans and lock in a rate for a year. Although prices are higher than last year, a fixed rate will save a lot compared to variable rates. Also remember that prices have a good chance of going up this summer.

Firstly, the Constellation 12 Month Home Natural Gasplan at $0.649 per therm. This is the cheapest 12 month plan by 50¢ per therm. The plan has a $150 ETF and $6.95 monthly charge. This plan is available over the phone at 855-798-9075.

Secondly, the Scana Energy 12 Month at $0.699 per therm. It’s pricier, but they do offer a $5 credit for the first ten months. The ETF is $150 and the monthly charge is $6.95.

Thirdly, the Georgia Natural Gas® 12 Month Fixed also at $0.699 per therm. The rate is a $0.10 discount for new customers only. For anyone leaving a fixed rate contract for this plan, you can get up to $200 in exit fees covered. The plan has a $100 ETF the first six months and $50 ETF the last six months. The monthly charge is $7.99-$8.99.

Next, the Xoom Energy SureLock12 once again at $0.699 per therm. The plan has a $100 ETF and $5.85 monthly charge, which is the lowest of any provider.  

Finally, the Gas South Fixed 12 Month at $0.750 per therm. The provider doesn’t charge a deposit, which keeps as much as $150 in your pocket up front. Additionally, you get $50 in bill credits over ten months. The ETF is $150 and the monthly charge is $6.95-$9.95.

In the last five years alone, according to Henry Hub data, wholesale natural gas prices increased for at least one month in the summer. That means holding out for June rates isn’t likely to get you a better deal.

Although these prices aren’t too exciting for Augusta customers hoping for falling fixed plan rates, they’ll do much better for you than variable rates. According to the PSC, standard variable rates for these five providers range from $1.099 and $2.249 per therm.
